What is
Assisted Living?
The Assisted Living
Federation of
America (ALFA) defines an assisted living
residence as
"a special combination of
housing, personalized services and health
care designed to meet the needs - both
scheduled and unscheduled - of
those
who need help with the activities of daily
living."
At
Ingham Regional Assisted Living,
we further define it as, "Peace of Mind
with a Hospital Connection" It is a place
where seniors
can get the care they need,
while living in a safe, secure environment
and participating in the things they enjoy.
Seniors are encouraged to be
active and
to interact with family and friends.
We
are members of the Assisted Living Federation of America and

When it is Time: A
Special Note
Very few seniors
can leave their
family home and begin a new living
arrangement without
apprehension.
Sometimes they adamantly resist the
move. This is normal.
It
is also normal to feel guilty if you
are the one responsible for
uprooting a
loved one who can no longer function
comfortably and safely
at home.
And
while there may be apprehension
in the early stages of this life change,
we
want to reassure you, our purpose is to
make assisted living so
attractive and so
helpful, our seniors will wish they had
come to live
here long before.
We
